Sojourn

You could have received the stars

How I want to give them the glimmer of your eyes

They couldn't contain your passion

The fury of your lingering kisses

At least they could have served

As highlights to the already molten headdress

That only the gods imagined

In the sullen times endless

My pain reaches further than my hand can cover

My blood spills out of wounds too broad to stitch

Eyes are sodden, mouth is desiccated --

Over my spoony recants of interests formerly debated

I was impatient, I was relentless

Because the love you showed me was more than a reflection

It was the epitome of Opaque affection

Never seeing through your motive, nor needing to

I could never attribute more to you

Than the God who created...

But in a small, yet important way

You've saved what was abandoned

You have led my soul to Sojourning

Received my heart, laid upon your breast

There is rests, forever abated

Until the time when we both shall rest
