I Have Been Betrayed

February 26

I have been betrayed

By the end of summer days

The sighing of it's passing

In eerie silence, it's coolness

I have been betrayed

One that has received my heart finally

Unwilling to cede to it's moaning

Closing her eyes to the gradual atrophy

I have been betrayed

The surrogate mother in fact

Crocodile tears at my leaving

Harsh denouncements at my back

I have been betrayed

Friends that can't see through these eyes

Cannot feel the sweat of this hell

Will never taste the blood of my divide

I have been betrayed

Those I have wronged in theory

Refuse to look past a moment

My stinging defeats so clear

I have been betrayed

The image reflected from the shoal

Ever clarified each day hence

The Smiling insignificances written in stone

I have been betrayed

My own treacherous heart

The will of my leanings

Principle root from the start

I have been betrayed

Soon he will be no more

I will not leave him in death

But in the Abyss of my core

To haunt the rest of his days

Fearing the past

I will leave his seductive gaze

Forever, at the last.
