- 1st Album -

This is the first album i recorded. It was completed in 2001. The vocals are out of tune in places, the recording and mixing are certainly worse than recently, and some songs were written as early as 1996. The original title was "Dystopia" , however, im doubting lately that i actually came up with that title, it could have been a subconcious lift from a former bandmate. Not to mention that the title doesnt seem to accurately depict the sound presented. Lyrics are linked to below.
Although I had a large amount of material previous, Dystopia is what i considered my first "real" album. It was recorded on a brand-spanking new computer (at the time) and was my first foreay into digital recording, editing, and psuedo-mastering. I made cd covers and even sold a few at a local music store.
The Album features an eclectic variety of styles -- from folk and alternative rock, to industrial and metal. From morose and somber, to angry and frantic. But then again, it is a reflection of self, so what else would anyone expect?
Everything on the album is performed by yours truly, except for the bass on the song "waiting" by Michael Raimondi, and a singing cameo at the end of "sungreen" by Vera James.
All songs were written by me, except for 4+20, written by stephen stills. I think i put enough of a spin on this song to count it nearly as my own.
On this album, you will hear some harsh sounds, some out of tune vocals, some out of place mixing, and some unbalanced equalization. But overall, considering my novice (at the time) level of skill, I am still happy with how this came out. |
